This week the Humanities classes are starting on their research papers. Classes will be held in both the library and the tech lab as the students gather their sources and begin their rough drafts. They will not be given any additonal assignments this week, although they are encouraged to look up more information about their topic at home. Take a look at the "research paper" section of this website

By now the students have received the scores from the September Writing Prompt CCA. Overall, the 7th graders did a fantastic job on their baseline assessment. We discussed several strategies for improvement as a whole class. Furthermore, I held an individual conference with each student to give them specific feedback on their writing strengths and areas of improvement.

The students are now tasked with re-writing their prompts, incorporating the feedback they received in class. The final draft of their essay will be counted as a summative assessment under Criterion D: Communicating.

DUE: Friday, October 19th

Today in class the students began reading sample writing prompts and evaluating them. Their homework assignment is to complete the evaluations for the remaining prompts not finished in class.
